This product is designed to give a 1 amp maximum 13.9 V precise voltage & current limit suitable for charging 12 volt nominal lead acid cells. When it reaches this accurate set point, the charger supplies a small trickle charge to maintain the battery. For sealed batteries, there can be no venting, as the current is precisely limited. For open cells, there is no out gassing. Therefore the charger cannot damage the battery. 

The 1525BA is ideal for constantly charging an auxiliary 12V lead acid battery from a 24 V DC source. Applications include tail gate lifters, caravan batteries and marine auxiliary batteries.
